Throwback Thursdays are a time to reflect on something from the past – whether far distant or last week – that can make an impact on today.
I didn’t want to become a shameless self-promoter. Even now, I have moments where I show my work, and I worry that I’m driving friends and family insane. Oh, there’s Rob again with a post about his damn book. Oh, another art piece. When will it stop?
Never. It will never stop. If you create something, you should share it. Show your work!
Show Your Work
I started on this journey of creative sharing after reading the book Show Your Work by Austin Kleon. It made me feel free to unleash all of the projects I used to be terrified and held close to the chest. Austin’s books – Steal Like an Artist and Show Your Work – showed me that the key to creative work is not a solitary act.
In this trailer, Austin outlines the concepts behind Show Your Work, and I think you should check it out!
